Posturology is a relatively recent branch of medicine; it aims to study human beings as a whole and in particular how they relate to space, things and people around them.
Numerous structural factors come into play in determining the posture the subject assumes, but equally important are metabolic and especially psychic factors, so in studying posture, one must consider the subject from a global perspective.
A subject’s posture is not just the position of the body in space, but an extraverbal communication route of the organism, manifesting the integration it can find in everything around it.
The study of posture can provide valuable insights into the patient and his or her pathology at that particular point in life. The aim of posturology is the diagnosis and treatment of dysfunctions of the postural system, based on a comprehensive diagnostic model that allows correlation and integration of specific clinical assessments such as neurological, ophthalmological, orthopedic, physiatric, dental, etc.
G.P.S. – Global Postural System
Body posture is gaining increasing importance both in individuals with a wide variety of diseases and in growing individuals. This is how this new diagnostic tool of the patient’s static and dynamic posture was born. The GPS consists of several diagnostic units placed on joined platforms and the whole is connected to a computerized system.
The diagnostic units connected to the computer are: the Lux Postural Analyzer art. 01085; the Lux Postural Footboard art. 01090; and the Lux Podiatrist art. 01086.
Thanks to the system’s two webcams, photographs of the patient can also be taken, printed and archived for possible comparison during a later visit.
The Lux Podoscope is a device for plantar analysis of the feet. It offers the possibility of having a true visualization of the sole of the foot by highlighting the points of highest and lowest load.
