Moshe Feldenkrais (1904-1984), Israeli physicist, Europe’s first Judo black belt and creator of the Method, started from the observation that movement and life are inseparable, one cannot exist without the other.

Human beings achieve neuromotor development by moving their bodies, playing and exploring increasingly refined forms of movement.Thanks to proprioceptive sensation and kinaesthetic sense, we are able to stand, sit, walk, write, read and perform all functions.

Feldenkrais created this stupendous method of learning by choosing movement, touch and their deep listening as a means of self-knowledge and as a way to move toward improving the quality of life.




IL METODO

The method, in its two aspects of Awareness through Movement and Functional Integration, achieves:

IL CORSO DI MOVIMENTO CON IL METODO FELDENKRAIS

Bones are a living, dynamic organ that needs nourishment and is incessantly renewing itself. The rate of bone regeneration is determined by personal functioning and corresponds to the range of daily movements, their strength, variety and coordination. Monotonous physical activity, limitations and dysfunctional restrictions fail to stimulate bone regeneration, which is why the skeleton weakens and a process of bone deterioration is initiated. In the language of nature, the thinning of bone tissue is the beginning of the process of decay in life. However, at any age and in any physical condition, one can reverse the direction of this process by restoring natural movement. The purpose of this technique is to restore balance between the parts by stressing the more dormant areas that have become lazy over time, relieving the work of the more active ones.

Fundamental is the stimulation of the nervous system, through the attention we pay to performing simple movements involving every part of the body, so we offer different options to our habitual way of moving and become more sensitive to perceiving muscle tensions, being able to eliminate or control them. In this way our body, free from erroneous postural patterns, regains its efficiency, with greater flexibility, harmony and simplicity in our movements.

Directions

The course includes group or individual classes and is aimed both at those who need special attention in motor activity due to functional limitations and those who want to improve their motor skills.
