The acronym PRP defines platelet growth factors (PRP-Platelet rich plasma), extracted from the patient’s own blood and purified with special centrifugation technique are used with “curative” effect in some specific diseases of the musculoskeletal system in order to accelerate the natural healing process and promote tissue regeneration in tendons, muscles and articular cartilage.
The necessary base is the patient’s blood, which is drawn and with special system is fed into a specific high-speed centrifuge that “skims” the growth factor/repair factor-rich part, the platelet gel, from the blood.
This is then injected into the site of joint, tendon or even muscle injury. These components function as catalysts by attracting immune and low-differentiating cells to the site of injury, which are stimulated to regenerate tissue.
